Knight was retained in our herd after we lost his sire, +B GCH Risin’ Creek Wen Khaos Strikes. When we decided we wanted to keep a Striker son, he was the perfect fit. His dam GCH King’s Rock Madison Isabella 2*M earned a final appraisal score of 89 VEEE as a 5-year-old. Madison’s dam AKM-Farm Alexandra Isabella 1*M appraised 90 VEEE as an 8-year-old, so Madison is a 2nd generation excellent appraising udder. He is also the maternal brother to our Top 10 doe SGCH King’s Rock EX Amata Isabella 3*M 90 VEEV (05-06). Using him also has allowed us to cross our two branches of the family tree back together, playing on the strengths of both the Isabella line and the Candy line. With that said, we are very happy with his offspring. His daughter out of GCH AKM-Farm Carmel 1*M, King’s Rock Knight Time Confit 2*M is exactly why we kept him! As a dry yearling, she went Best in Show at the Dutchess County Fair and was Grand Champion and Reserve Champion several times as a first freshening two-year-old. She also is maintaining the milk records we have been seeing from our Striker daughters, with phenomenal butterfat percentages. She even has 2 9.9% butterfat tests!
Due to our herd size, we have not been able to keep many of his kids, however, we have seen several other milking daughters in other herds and are very happy with the mammary system improvements that they have over their dam both in terms of attachment and capacity. Knight is collected and semen is available for sale.
