Double Shot is gone now but a doe who left a lasting impact on our herd and our hearts!

Double Shot was the perfect example of the potential successes of a planned linebreeding.  We bred her dam, Mocha, back to her sire and could not have been happier with the results.  Since Expresso is her sire and grandsire, she was twice an Expresso kid, hence her name, Double Shot.  She earned her dry leg at the New Jersey State Fair as a yearling in 2014 and freshened with a really nice and productive udder in 2015.  In 2016, Double Shot was Grand Champion at the Dutchess County Fair.

She stood on great legs and is one of the longest does in the barn.  Her udder is tightly snug to her body and has a great height to her rear udder arch.  She has great dairy strength, scoring Excellent in Dairy Strength at her appraisal as a first freshening two-year-old.  

Double Shot took 2017 off but came right back in 2018. A highly productive doe, she milked 2,280 pounds in 292 days. She also did well in the show ring, placing Reserve Grand Champion at three shows this year. In 2019, Double Shot earned her permanent championship at her first show out and appraised excellent, scoring 90 EEEV. Double Shot was not only a high-performing doe in her own right but also a valuable brood doe for us. Her daughters in our herd are GCH (pending) King’s Rock She’s Something 2*M and King’s Rock Head Over Heels.
